When we arrive to the Erba roundabout we go straight on to Lecco direction, till to Pusiano. Straight on again till to next roundabout. We’ll turn right after 300 m then straight on till to the third roundabout and take the 2nd exit. Straight on again till to the 3th roundabout then take the 1st exit, to Sirone direction. We’ll go on till to the railway, in front of a cemetery of Molteno. Inside the cemetery we’ll be able to find Lucio Battisti grave.

At the railway we’ll turn left and we’ll proceed for 1 km. before exit to major street we’ll turn right. We’ll go under the bridge and go up to the center of the village.

We’ll proceed again to Erba direction and Milan, going back to Anzano del Parco

MOLTENO HISTORY

In Molteno Romans lived, some ruines were found there around in 1912, among them some tombs, pottery, weapons, a coin of Costante Emperor (IV century). During VI century first churches were built in small villages. In some documents is written that in Molteno there was a castle that had been destroyed. Molten was also subjected to domination: from Milan, from France and from Spain. After all them Austrians settled till to the first insurrection and the Unit of Italy.

The new town hall is located inside the Villa Rosa Park, a quite big green area surrounded by a path for bikers and hikers. The main square is Risorgimento square, from there a uphill road leads to S. Giorgio church, on Ceppo hill. From the church yard a landscape is visible over the hills of Brianza. The other famous square in Molteno is Europe square. Every Wednesday morning there’s the city market in the park.
