FAMOUS HERBIVORES

Many people we know have changed their eating habits. There’s someone we’ve already met, it’s quite unnecessary telling about Gandhi, but we are not enough informed about someone else. Leonardo da Vinci, Plato, Socrates for starting the point.

Socrates was used to say, “eating vegetarian allows us to better use agricultural resources”. He also said: “if man goes ahead eating animals, he’ll need more pastures. Ground won’t be enough for everybody.”

Glaucous, another philosopher of ancient Greece, was used to say about pastures, they won’t be enough and “we’ll be forced to fight for them”.

Leonardo da Vinci, huge man of art and science, used to dissecting corpses, thanks to them he left us perfect images of impressive anatomical parts, he said like this: “who doesn’t respect life, he doesn’t deserve it”. He was so sad about killed animals, he said these words: “many puppies of these animals will be taken away, ripped, barbarously massacred.”

Herewith some of most famous phrases:

“it’s unacceptable that violence is an eating habit. Laws of nature say that beans must co-operate, so they have social responsibility. They haven’t got a constitution, no laws, no police, no religion, no morality, but due to their nature, they’re used to work together. Sometimes they fight, but generally, thanks to their co-operation the entire swarm survive. We, human being, have a constitution, laws and police. We have religion, intelligence, and a heart full of love. We have many extraordinary qualities, but practically we trudge behind these small insects. For some things we have poorest than beans.

Tenzin Gyatso, XIV Dalai Lama
