American Natives Lakota told a legend about Pleaides and a rocky peak called “Devil Tower”

Kiowas tell a similar story: seven girls were playing when they were chased by some ravenous bears. The girls climbed up a peak to save their own lives. As they reached the top they praied the gods of the peak to help them. The gods took pity and made the peak grow till to the sky. Then the girls were transformed into stars. The bears tried to reach them, slid down the steep slopes leaving trace of their claws into the rock. Those claws are visible today.

For the Maori in New Zealand the rising of Pleiades was similar to the new year.

The Aztecs based their calendar on this constellation.

In Hawaii islands there’s the Subaru telescope, in Mauna Kea. This name means Pleiades in Japanese

A curiosity about Hawaii name. For the native language it means: the breath and the water of God. Hawaii is not a single name but some names put all together. “Ha” means inspiration, “I” means God and “Wai” means water.
