Becoming vegetarian, it's fashion in these years. Meny people have become vegetarian for health reasons, for other people is a matter of keeping oneself in line. For meny others is a matter of religious and cultural reasons, for others it's a deep despleasure the death of lot of animals.
Whatever is the reason is always respectable. But perhaps few people know that becoming vegetarian is a key point for saving the planet and our health.
First of all let's talk about us, look at us well and ask: for a human body is more healthy a vegetarian or meat diet?
Let's start from our anatomical structure, a view from the outside, our hands and our mouth. Our teeth are suitable to chew vegetables, thanks to our big molars we can well chew roughage. We don't have got sharp teeth like carnivores, suitable to tear flesh. Carnivores don't chew food, they in fact tear flesh and swallow them in whole portions, they don't move their jaws sideways like we do.
Let's look now at our hands, they don't have sharp claws, but they have an opposable thumb, more suitable to grow vegetables and pluck fruits than capture and kill prey.
And now let's look us inside ourselves, in our stomach. To digest flesh we have to produce very strong gastric juice with a lot of hydrochloric acid. But even thoug our gastric juice are powerful, they don't be as powerful as those of carnivores, which are twenty times stronger than ours.
When then digested food goes into our intestine must make a long journey, so that nutrients will be absorbed by our organism. Carnivores gut is three time long their body. Ours and the herbivores gut is twelve times long. This means that food has to make a longer journey inside.
One of the organ much more damaged by a high consumption of meat is the kidney. Kidney is a wonderful filter, it purifies blood and body fluids which are recycled more times before being eliminated, but if it receives a overload of toxins, it'll be subjected to an extra work. Young people can take all this stress, but as time goes by we risk to get disorders and diseases.
Another task of our kidney is to control blood pressure, by making a specific hormone to circulate, called renin. With the passage of time its functions can be altered. This is one of the reasons why blood pression can change by middle age on, with serious consequences.
Another worrying word is cholesterol. Our organism can't use a big quantity of animal fats. But carnivores can tolerate an almost unlimited quantity. An experiment conducted on dogs can describe this process well. For twou years 2 pounds of animal fats were joint to the food of some dogs, but cholesterol in their blood didn't change.
Any time we eat too many animal fats, our body stores them in fatty plaques in our arteries, restricting the diameter, causing their hardening, called arteriosclerosis preventing the normal flow of blood to heart and brain.
Another proof, demonstrating that our intestin isn't suitable to assimilate meat, is relashionship between colon cancer and a diet rich of meat, particularly if we don't eat enogh roughages, because of the slow transit of the digested food, toxins have time enough to cause detrimental effects. Digested meat produce steroid metabolic which cause rise of blood shugar, catabolism of proteins, osteoporosis...but have a stop now, because this is not the site where get more information from.
Our organism is a perfect machine that has to well assimilate nutrients after a long metabolic process and removal of waste. Every time we eat something tha our body doesn't recongnise it will be destabilized by it
